    Hi peeps,

Noob question here that I can't resolve. I am trying to turn on the GPU of my Sager NP5160 but it's perpetually locked on the integrated graphics card.

I went into the settings for Nvidia and selected "high-performance Nvidia graphics" for all my settings but it won't budge. In addition, I made sure that the VGA button on the upper left hand corner of my keyboard is orange so it allows for dGPU.

    Can someone help me out?

You really cant turn it on and off yourself. Since it's Optimus its designed to do it automatically. Start up a game and it should switch over itself.

As Hutsady said, it should kick in when you start games. Run fraps or another benchmarking software and see if your results are in line with the typical values for the 540m. If they are, then the dGPU is starting up as expected.
