    Hey everyone,

I know people say to disable windows indexing for a cooler HD in the NP8662, and things like that for Vista to lower your HD settings, but what about if you are running Windows 7? Is it the same thing, or what should I do to ensure it runs the coolest? Thanks!

Bump, anyone have a complete list of stuff? I'm so tired of my HD running 60C all the time.

Indexing, system restore, etc. Mine only reaches 60C when extracting multiple large files or installing something and extracting a large file.

I personally left system restore on because 1) it didn't change my temps much and 2) it's nice to have.

You can disable caching on your HD, but that will lower the drives performance slightly.
