Hi!
I have installed Vista Business edition and it works fine, except that my bisoncam doesn't work. I only get a black screen in the preview for the camera.
Second problem: my card reader 7-in-1 doesn't recognize when I insert my card.
I have a 5760 Sager.
Anyone know how to solve these problems?
-
I have also, yet to get my bisoncam on my acer to work. It just freezes whatever program that tries to use it. Even when I use on Explorer. I don't think there is a way around the driver problem yet. I guess I have to wait until more updates are available.

The camera Vista driver has not yet been released.
Sager will make it available once it has been released. -
is that the 64 bit version of vista business? or 32?
-
Because I have problems with my 7-in-1 card reader as well. -
Try this site: http://yasstown.com/files/ and download the zip camera file.

The only two drivers that are not available yet are for the Camera, and the TV Tuner.
Sager's official statement:
"Currently the manufactures of our Video Camera and TV-Tuner do not have stable build drivers and applications available for Windows Vista, but they have an ETA of the end of February. Sager will be including a attachment notice in each system shipped with or without a Vista OS ordered to explain the issue and the URL to download the drivers and applications once they are available."
If you are having trouble with your memory card reader, please call tech support, or you can email them at [email protected] -
Where can I find all the Vista drivers? Because on Sager's webpage there are only drivers for XP.
-
But as I said I only get a black preview.
It is the 32-bit version. -

The official release of Vista is January 30th. Sager should have the drivers up by then.
-
-
Sager is selling their systems now with Vista but the drivers aren't posted. Check out their website. They should also be using the Intel 802.11 N cards pretty soon also.
-
It's now February and the drivers still are not available. When testing Vista, I had issues with the NVidia card causing problems. Just waiting "patiently" for the drivers. Clevo's website does not show them either. Paladin44, any further information on what our friends at Sager are doing?
Thanks, -

The folks at Sager are working hard and fast getting the Vista release going, but it has only been 2 days since the release...so, a little more patience is required.
Clevo is supplying new driver versions almost on a daily basis, so once it all settles down they will post the drivers to their website. They are hopeful they can do this by next week sometime. -
I assume that, hopefully, the new drivers include Bluetooth software? Vista's BT is crippled for security purposes, so it's basically useless without software - and the XP version of BlueSoleil bluescreens on startup.

The only driver that Sager does not have at this time is for the TV Tuner.

Late February was the early word, but the camera driver has now been released.

Oops! CORRECTION.
The Camera driver has not been released yet...they are still testing and have not had the success required to release it. -

"The only driver that Sager does not have at this time is for the TV Tuner"
ok, so they have drivers but have not published them yet? -
Donald@Paladin44 Retired
Please read ALL of the posts in this thread and you will answer your own question.
-
Well, I have read all the posts.
You are giving mixed messages. At some posts you are saying that they have all the drivers except for camera and tv-tuner, and on another post you say that they are working very hard to release them.. hmm. -
there is no official Vista driver for the TV-Tuner and the Bison-Cam at the moment.
you can force the install, but it is not recommended -

ph1l, if you read my posts more carefully you will see the answer.
One issue is what drivers Sager has and is using to ship new builds. They have all but the TV Tuner and the Bison-Cam. So, if you ordered your Sager laptop on or after January 27th with Vista you will have these drivers installed.
The other issue is when they will have time to put them up on their website. Since their first priority is to ship new computers to people who have purchased their Vista OS from them, posting Vista drivers on their website for those who didn't purchase the OS from them is their 2nd priority and they will get them up as soon as they can.
Therefore the obvious answer to your question: "ok, so they have drivers but have not published them yet?" is yes. -
eureka! -
Well, it looks like we're headed in the right direction. I went to Sager's site this morning and received the following error when trying to get the drivers -

Okay, so it looks like most things have been posted; where is the Bluetooth driver, though?
-
bluetooth driver depends on which miniPCI(e) card you have installed in your system, which is not Sager's, but usually MSI, Giga-byte, and Intel
-
Please tell me you're kidding. I have a CSR card, I think, but they have the standard problem of not *ever* updating their drivers, so there isn't and won't be a vista driver that doesn't have to be cracked. I had been hoping that the manufacturer would provide drivers so that I don't have to go through the backspinning hell of trying to maintain cracked drivers just to use Skype...
Especially because Sager provides XP bluetooth drivers. -
Anybody could buy a sager notebook, extract the webcam drivers and post it? hehe
-
ok boys... read this and works!

I'll be loading Windows Vista Ultimate onto my Sager within a day or two, I'll drop by and report how everything runs.
I'm upgrading earlier than I thought I would. -
Now everything works great for me, the new drivers got my card reader which I use daily to work... so I'm a very happy camper!
A question though:
I windows XP when I write clicked on a movie file I had the option to either play the movie on my computer or tv (very very nice feature), but I don't get this option in Vista. Anyone knows how I can get this to work? -
This is what it says on the webpage Galen2 referred to:
Download bison driver here: http://cweb.msi.com.tw/html/products/nb/nb_vista_driver/vistadriver-cam.htm
Then from ( http://forums.microsoft.com/TechNet/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=1170344&SiteID=17&PageID=1):

Greetings from Windows Vista Ultimate.
It's working flawlessly; Vista installed all necessary drivers (minus the camera, which I could honestly care less about), including the video (I updated it anyway).
-
now I have to drag the video to the second display to get it on my tv.. well I have to keep looking.
I have now tried the stuff with the webcam that people posted about earlier and it works great! -

It's been almost a day since I installed Vista. I have to say that the Pentium M does struggle a bit. It struggles to multitask and it gets choked up often. It's not unmanageable, but it is noticeably slower than XP.
Aero works perfectly with the ATI X700 though.
BTW - Vista installed the Bison Cam drivers.I haven't tried it yet (to be honest, I don't know where to launch it from
), but I will.
-
When I tried to use the camera with Skype or MSN, I got a black image (where the camera was supposed to show my ugly-face).
But after doing the thing with the reg file and using the other drivers it works perfecto! -
*sighs* Bluetooth? Anyone? I really need to get back to Skype, I'm wasting cellphone minutes by the truckload here... there's no reason why BT drivers shouldn't be up, especially given that no other manufacturer's drivers will work without a crack.
Does anyone have any word on this?
By the way, the camera driver up on Sager's site works perfectly. I've been having a lot of fun with my now-functioning camera... -
anyone have a solution for this? (Vista of course) -
Personally I like it better that way; doesn't mess with my games. -
