    Hey guys,

So I opened my P750DM today and I encountered two lines that keep flickering horizontally.

They seem to have folder locations written on them that must have been the screen I was on before whatever happened happened.

    Any ideas?

Update : Uninstalled GPU drivers and the lines are still there even after restart so that kind of rules out the gpu being defective or something.

Perhaps a loose lcd connection? Weird because it was perfectly fine.

Doesn't look like it, I also removed the RAM for 30 seconds but nada.

    Could it be vBIOS related?

This looks like hardware related, more like when you push into the panel with a finger.

I have no idea what to do, if it was screen damage (which is impossible the laptop remains in one position all day, I oversee it) I would see a dent or hit on the LCD. There is nothing. Just two lines with frozen text in them flickering.

Do LCD cables that connect it with the motherboard get loose so easily?

Only if they weren't connected properly in the first place

Well it was fine until now I've had it for definitely less than a month, perhaps two weeks the most.

Is it possible for this to happen overtime if they weren't properly configured in the first place?

Happens sometimes. Did the top lid accidentally take higher than normal pressure? Like did something press against it?

Best case scenario its just the cable loose or it has gone bad.

It can get loose as you open and close the panel if they weren't 100% right.can you RMA the machine?

No I always open it with care I don't think so.

Could this be in any way related to the GPU? Since when I uninstalled the drivers the problem remained?

I'll ring the people first thing monday morning and see what I can do.

Will be a bit disappointed if they indeed did a poor job at connecting some cables:/

Is the problem still there when you go into the BIOS?
And if you laptop has a Intel iGPU then try switching to that and see if the problem persits.
That is something i have never seen related to a GPU issue. But you never know...

The lines even appear when I boot the laptop during the manufacturers logo... hence why I have my doubts as to it being a GPU issue.
I don't have an iGPU as far as I know.

I don't have to get into windows for the two lines to appear, they are there as soon as the laptop boots.

Good chance its the cable or the panel. This is unlike anything i have seen related to the GPU.
Try hooking up an external monitor, that will narrow it down.

Had this problem in an ASUS G73Sw, it was a loose cable

Alright guys, quickly hooked it up to my tv via HDMI, and voila everything crispy clear and even tried running some 4k content. This eliminates the gpu factor right? (I never really thought it was that, but just for my peace of mind.)

Really thinking its just a loose cable.

    THIS ^

There you go, GPU isn't the issue. Cable or Panel, and from @Phoenix 's reply , seems like its the cable.

It's very unusual, normally the only LCD cable issue we see is around the hinge area after a period of time, doesn't usually happen as a specific glitch that doesn't change when the panel is opened and closed a litle bit.

Clevo connect all these cables in their factory i.e. audio, LCD and so on - only things like the keyboard cable/s, WiFi cables etc that are open to change or components that are installed by us are also connected by us. If they work in our testing then there's not a huge amount more we can do, but I'm sure we can get it sorted for you ASAP :)
