Don't know if any of you remember my thread from two years ago... just wanted to report that my Coke-owned 9261 has been running flawlessly for over two years now. And the keys aren't even sticky anymore. Rock on. Here's to Clevo for making quality laptops.

Great!, I heard the previous Clevo Notebooks were far superior than the current lineup in terms of quality build.

That is true. Just like the rest of the notebook industry, the manufacturing quality has went a little bit downhill over the years. However, Clevo hasn't dipped in quality that sharply compared to the other ODM's.

Clevo is the ODM. They design and manufacture the notebook itself. The other "brands" put in the non-exclusive parts such as the CPU, RAM, and HDD.

They also do act as ODM for other big-name labels, although at this point I'm not up on whom they're manufacturing for right now.

I mine as well post... I bought my 9260 (from the ELUSIVE PCMW, haha) in august of 2007...

This baby never got those upgrades in my sig :(. only the four gigs of RAM. (well, because, i NEVER needed the upgrades! lol)

The only issue i have are those pixelated lines that run across the screen now and then. It stopped when i got a new video cable a year ago. Then it returned recently. I know its the cable thats getting pinched, since when i leave that area open (as in take off the panel and let the wires just breathe in the open, which looks really ugly lol) it doesnt happen =/

But thats just the build, a new cable has that issue too.

SO, 2 and half years in, and my screen flickers a bit now and then, no biggie. Once im done with college I'm getting a new PC anyway (only a year and a half to go)

question is, do i go desktop or another gaming big rig :D

Interesting... the same thing---or something similar---started happening to my laptop after the Coke incident. Every few minutes/hours/days (it's fairly unpredictable), the screen will be covered in staticky white/black/grey lines for very brief moments. I can basically make it go away for a few weeks by removing the keyboard/shield/panel stuff and fiddling with the monitor cable.

Interesting stuff... I'm just amazed that this problem is so harmless. Or at least, it seems to be harmless.
