If anyone has a Clevo/Sager in the UK would you be so kind as to post where you got it from?

I am looking to get one of these shortly and the availability of these in the UK seems limited (rock are the only ones of any note?)

Has anyone ordered one from the US/Europe? and did you get done for duty?

Hi Horace, I live in the UK and purchased my sig as an import from XoticPC. I did it by email contact which isn't the absolute best way but I got my machine in about two and a half weeks. I think the process was okay but I did a price-match against RJtech with XoticPC to get money knocked off, and by the time (due to UK and US time difference) I had arranged that with Justin (the owner and also sales rep, support tech, and Xotic forum mod at the time) the price for my config for the machine had dropped below the price match. I agreed a new price with Justin based on the config price drop, wired my money over and then was told I had paid too little (which I hadn't). I don't think it was intentional but because of his error I had to drop my 2 year guarantee to 1 year. He was soooo busy he wasn't reading the emails properly, including his own emails agreeing the latest new price for the same config. I really wasn't impressed with that at all, especially since all the emails we had sent each was in each email (via reply). However the price was still okay taking the US/UK exchange rate into consideration.

If you're going to buy abroad know you are taking a risk with your machine being bad out of the box and may have to send it back (paying shipping both ways-in warranty). My LCD display screwed up 1.5 weeks after receiving the machine. Fortunately Sager support techs (good guys in my case) sent me a part so I could fix it myself. All in all, I'm very happy with it now, with some exceptions concerning self-installed Win-xp pro stability. Never had so many problems with drivers (clevo's bluetooth etc.) and general OS stability as I've had with this machine. No good reason why as it's the same xp copy I had on my old machine and same progs. Had to reinstall XP twice and do an XP repair twice. No, I had no viruses.

the uk prices are so overinflated im trying to figure if its cheaper to buy it abroad and have it shipped over (especially with the weak dollar atm)
