Only a few desktop motherboard will have it... but I doubt you will find it on notebooks for another year.
The main reason is the adoption of the new USB 3.0 is not going along very fast with most developers and manufacturers.
I am pretty sure you will find a ExpressCard for the USB3.0 when it gets standardized.
So your current notebook with an ExpressCard slot will have USB3.0 in the future. -
This won't be mobile for a loooong time. I was reading some document which said 2011 on one of the slides. I can't remember where it was from.

and USB 3.0 will PWN eSATA for sure...
-
ESATA II is 3Gb/s, USB3 is 4.8Gb/s, but SATA III is coming out basically at the same time as USB3, and that's 6Gb/s, so no.

the majority of computer users wont need such a large bandwidth...
the reason people use eSata now is because 3.5" external HDD speed can reach speeds of 150MB/s average so....using USB 2.0 where the bandwidth is only 480Mbps is really insufficient.
but when USB 3.0 is introduced , people may stay with it for quite awhile until there are better and faster standards for storage(1GB/s transfer speed maybe?) where USB 3.0 will start bottlenecking and again will be replaced by eSATAIII
another reason people still stick with usb is maybe because of self-powering device rather than esata using external source of power -
On Fudzilla Nvidia confirms that the latest for USB 3.0 is 2011 -> because of Intel.

They are trying to push Light Peek which will be released on 2010.
USB 3.0 in a Clevo soon....maybe...
