EDIT: I originally thought usb was killing my score but it seems overclocking is the cause, please refer to post #6 for more info what I mean.

I hope someone can help me find a solution!

Thats the first I've heard of that. Is this with it plugged in or on battery?

Are your USB controller drivers up to date?

Normally they are up to date but I will reinstall them just to be sure.. Actually I don't think it will solve my problem since this only happens when my 7970 is oc'ed ( currently 950/1400 and stock voltage) , on stock clocks I get 6230 for combined with all usb attached, which is a normal score.. overclocking without raising the voltage, does it also increase power draw ?

My separate scores for physics and graphics are still ok and I got +- 500 extra graphics points for the overclock.. it's only when both are stressed at the same time that there's an issue..( temps never go above 80c so that's not the issue) I'm a bit clueless here..

Ok so today my battery was only charged 60% , and I just did a 3dmark bench, with an insanely low score as a result.. see for yourself:

    AMD Radeon HD 7970M video card benchmark result - Intel Core i7-3610QM Processor,CLEVO P15xEMx score: P7045 3DMarks

Avg fps according to 3dmark score sheet:

No OC+usb: Combined Test 29.24 FPS
OC + usb: Combined Test 26.39 FPS
OC + usb + 60% charged: Combined Test 23.72 FPS

So we're talking about a 10% performance drop when oc'ed, when it should be the other way around, and if I'm unlucky my batt isn't charged I have a 20% drop.. nice figures.. I thought battery charging should normally stop when there's heavy load so you can still have max performance..

EDIT: After upgrading bios from 05 to 10 and reinstalling the usb drivers, it doesn't really matter anymore if they are plugged in or not, always same score.. so I don't know if it's a placebo effect or not.. but usb is no longer the problem..

PROBLEM: The higher my clocks(all 1.05v), the higher my graphics score but the lower my combined score:

    850/1200: http://www.3dmark.com/3dm11/4742793
    900/1300: http://www.3dmark.com/3dm11/4742942
    950/1400: http://www.3dmark.com/3dm11/4742570
    980/1450: http://www.3dmark.com/3dm11/4742850

I'm done benching now.. I really don't have a clue what's going on other than my power supply is faulty or my mainboard can't handle the current/power

OC can take a lot more POWER.

In a normal Desktop, a 250W graphic card, can eat 300W or even more when OC'ed...

Maybe you need a power supply upgrade?

ps: I don't know anything about that problem, so wait for someone with better experience! (but my thoughts is maybe that there's no more power for the laptop to eat, so it starts to fail ~performance decrease).

I'm also thinking this is the only explanation.. the question is.. if I buy a 220W for example.. that should provide more than enough power BUT can my mobo handle it or will I kill it with the higher current?
