    Hi all,

I was wondering if the Sager NP 5796/3 will be compatible with Ubuntu. Will it run ok, or are there complications?

Would appreciate some answers. If there is a previous post, could you post a link?

    Thanks.

I was thinking about the same thing, I think I will install it on my NP8660. Please tell me what you think.

Maybe post the hardware and then someone could explain if there would be any complications?

As long as there is Intel/Nvidia hardware, then there is drivers!

But Ubuntu Live-CD would be able to show you if something didn't work?

Try the live-CD first. It will be a little slow since the OS is gonna be running off the CD but it will nearly be fully functional.

It should run fine on your Sager. You just need to download the Nvidia drivers to unlock all the fancy eye candy.

I haven't tried it with Ubuntu but it seems to work good with SuSe.
As was said, Intel wireless and Nvidia graphics have good Linux support. :)

For starters, right from the Ubuntu website, on the CD download page. From that page, you'll download the CD image, burn it to CD and - presto! - you've got a Ubuntu liveCD.

I've never used Ubuntu, but Mint works just fine for me. And they're both Linux, so you should be fine.
