The 9800m GT SLI will outclass the 9800m GTX in most situations, unless the game doesn't support SLI. Either way, the difference between a single 9800m GT and the GTX doesn't appear to be that huge.

I would be greatful if u can point me to that source. I can wait till august with my purchase but it will destroy my other plans so I need to be sure that the 9800M GTX is coming out some time soon. When is your machine suppose to arrive?

Do we know if the NP9062 will support two 9800m GTXes in SLI?

You know, for the extra $600 it would cost, you're probably not getting much more power than dual 9800m GTS.

From what I read the NP9262 may need a MOBO swap out but that has not been confirmed..

Pray tell where you've been reading that (viz. 9800s in SLi)? Unless I'm very much mistaken, what you've been reading is old stuff that applied to the 8800s, not the 9800s (other than a few unduly pessimistic speculations of certain posters).

Hey do u guys think that the 9800GT SLI will be enough for some time? it doesnt look to be that much faster than the 8800GTX SLI and I want this laptop to last some time. Should I go for the 9800GT SLI or wait for the GTX SLI??

What are you going to be using it for? Everyone says for gaming but for what kind? Are you really an enthusiast who plays all the latest games like crysis, to come spore, fallout 3 etc... the 9800gt sli should be enough to last you for high settings for 2 years and then med settings for another 2

I would really like to play the games with maximum possible details, thats why the 9800GTX sounds like a good option but I dont know when it will be available.

Your not getting my point what type of gamer are you? Here and there, casual, hardcore? And do you play all the up to date graphics intensive games or just a few etc..

I dont consider myself to be hardcore gamer, I just dont have that much time to play all those video games, but when I do I love all those eye candy details. I would like to buy a computer now. I mean I can wait for the 9800GTX SLI but it will destroy my other plans, so the big question is if the 9800GT is worth spending $4000 or I should wait for the GTX. I want this lappy to last some time, its not gonna be a toy for a year.

Whoever is thinking of getting a 9800m GTX may wanna think again.

Notebookcheck.com has some benchmarks and theyre almost identical to 9800m GT. The SLI GT's will probably be exactly the same as the 8800m GTX SLI's unless Nvidia optimizes it really well with a driver.

Benchmark list for lots of mobile graphics cards:

On that note, could I add the question:

if I could get a system wit an 8800gtx sli and 2.5ghz for the same prcie as as a system with 9800gtx (non-sli) and 2.8ghz (and holing everything else equal), would this be a no-brainer to for the 8800gtx sli system?

8800m GTX SLI will most definitely be the better choice

8800GTX is basically 9800GT and an SLI version of it will improve your benches a lot.
