Is there any ways to get my computer to run REAL quiet.

When im in a class room, i cannot really chat and check websites because my fans will rise up too high and it's annoying for the person in front of me.

There's the quiet mode which block the fan to raise too high but it's still too noisy.
When I then put it in normal mode again, the fans slow down... at this state, my computer is as quiet as other notebooks and as low I would like, the problem is that in normal mode they will cycle between this low state and a ''medium'' state (which is higher than Silent mode). I don't see what I could do.

I use RMclock, would it work to restrict the cpu multiplier to the SuperLFM (6x @ 0.86 Ghz) only on batt. when im in class ?? but the video card would still be clocked too high.

They could have designed the fan control much better than this... yes its a powerfull computer but the quiet mode isn't quiet enough for me and there no settings that can be done. It's not like im running alot of apps an using massive amount of power, im doing what a 4 years old notebook would do and mine make more noise...

    What could I do ?

Nothing really..this is just one of those things that cannot be changed, but accepted..
You`ll have to stop taking it to class if it`s that noisy..or tell your collegues to make more noise to drown your fans` noise :D

I think they designed it such that they assumed you wouldn't bring this laptop into a classroom scenario...

But really, there's not much you can do... Downclock the GPU as well I guess?

The problem is not that its always noisy... its can be ok for like 5-7 mins, then for 1 min or so be higher and then be back.. or if they speed up and I put the silent mode on and put it off right away.. its ok again... its like the fans trigger too easily... the temps are very ok at anytime... I dont see why the fans would need to go faster.

Is there any 9800 GT downcloacking tool or something to keep temps lower to make the fan dont go crazy when its silent in class.

Edit : BTW my mate have an Xps and his notebook is quiet in class... if he does something cpu/gpu intensive, he would like me make noise but when surfing and chatting its normal like me... exept his fans don't speed up. I assume the fact that xps have power ''comparable/about same range'' to Clevo (less power than clevo's :p)

You'll want to use nibitor to change your 2d volts from .85 to .7v. Much quieter.
