So I got my USB Hub.. this one
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817394008
and its connector is a USB to Firewire cable... Seeing as the 5792 appears to have no firewire input... how is this going to work. lol
Please help.

579x HAS firewire. right next to your USB on the right side.
-
And I don't see anything about Firewire on the hub???

Lol wut? U has got FIreWire on the right hand side of your notebook.

Could it be that the hub supports the big firewire cable and his laptop, like most laptops, uses mini-firewire?
I don't really know, of course. Just a guess. -
Anyways, to the OP:
Are you sure that the FireWire connection is not on the USB-hub itself? So you plug the USB-end of the cable into your notebook, then you plug the FireWire-end of the cable into the hub? -
i am pretty sure the hub has USB ports only

Yea cookie your right... I actually figured this out about 2 minutes after I posted but was rushing out the door... oopsie! sorry but thanks for ur fast replies.. I got it working now just fine and its really quite nice. -
I have this HUB sitting on my desk and there is no firewire port on it.
The uplink port to the PC is just a miniature plug and it comes with a miniature plug to a (standard) A plug cable.
Um... My USB Hub?
