Hello guys, I need some help over here. My 8150 decided to call it quits today by not being able to boot up to windows and giving me an error message citing "Error sending End of Post message to ME" right after the SAGER logo splash screen.
I am still able to access the bios but nothing much other than that.
I have ruled out HDD failure as I have removed it from the laptop and placed it in an external 2.5" enclosure. It runs fine.
Without the HDD, the laptop continues to display the same error message. I have tried power cycling, removing the battery and adaptor and holding down the power button for 15 secs etc but to no avail.
I don't have the recovery CDs with me now as I'm staying in college hostel but I'm not sure if they work anyway and whether this is a sign of more serious things to come.
Any ideas on what I should do? I have contacted my reseller already but I just wanted to check here to see if anyone has encountered a similar case before![]()
Oh btw, my specs are:
i7 2630QM
AMD 6990M
8GB 1333 mHZ RAM
Standard SeaGate 500GB HDD
Mostly standard stuff.

If you're able to, borrow another machine and create a Linux live USB or a hiren's bootable disk. If the Linux live USB works, it may just be a corrupted Windows install. Ideally, you'd want to run the recovery disk but you already said you don't have them available.
Were you doing anything that may have caused the issue before it stopped working? (installed new drivers or software, bios updates, etc). A Windows System Restore may fix it if that was the case. -
Hi Malibal, thank you for your suggestions. I tried with a Linux Live USB but it does not work. I plugged it in and press F7 during the bootup screen to access boot options and load Linux but I still get the same error message.
The only thing I recall doing before it stopped working that could have cause this error was updating CCCleaner and running it as how I always do. I doubt it's the cause of the problem though. Didn't update anything else. -
yhchoong, When you get to the BIOS does it have an option to reset to all defaults (or some similar phrase)?

I believe something is wrong with the CPU, I've been going over the entire laptop and realise that simply by being in the bios, the plastic chassis directly above the CPU heat sink (part of the main backplate) gets really really hot.
I powered off immediately and removed the main backplate - the CPU heat sink itself is too hot to touch for longer than a second or two and the laptop was barely powered on for more than a minute in the bios.
The GPU side on the other hand was only slightly warm.
=/ I sure hope it's not some hardware failure..
