Could under-volting potentially solve the HDD heat situation in the M860TU?
I figure that it could at least reduce temps by a few degrees althought i realise this might not solve all issues as people have said before about there being no perforated holes in the notebook's chassis underneath the Hard Disk Drive.
    What do you peeps think?

Sure, but if the processor is running cooler, that's less heat in the case, right? I gotta believe that every little bit could help...

UV will reduce emitted in the chassis.

If your HD is near the processor then it should help a little.

    No promises though..

UV also slows down the fans due to less heat, and may cause other components to get hotter that were depending on that fan...

I was also thinking about the battery life as well as i know that people had their complaints about the short battery life compared to the m15x which managed better in that area.

For me personally, undervolting helped out my temps a little, they never rise above 50 now, except after a long gaming session. The one thing I can vouch for is battery life-- when I got the laptop, I had trouble getting even 2 hours out of it, undervolting helped me pull out 2.5 with a little left to spare.

I know on my M1730 i got a 6/7 degree drop in heat across the CPU and chipset when i undervolted mine,
Its a lotta hunting around for software but thats probably cause mines a dell and they HATE human beings, but, there you go

    Just my two cents (=

By the way, hi mickey >.<

It would help, but it would be so little that I doubt you'd even notice. Maybe a few minutes at best. If you really want to extended your battery life, turn down the screen brightness.

I would really love Clevo to release a higher capacity battery for this machine and give it a 4 hour battery life. Not that I would incredibly need it as I would be plugged in most of the time. But the convienence of having it when a outlet is not present would be so much more comforting. I would buy that battery in a heartbeat.

45 Minutes on my config at the moment, so not much point in spending the extra money, and plus this thing weighs that much i may as well carry round the PSU =P
