Hi all!
New here. Used to use forums (although different ones) years years ago, now I rarely do. But I've ordered Clevo P775TM from Polish reseller Hyperbook (mostly cause they have proved themselves to be good years ago when I was buying my first Clevo - P150SM, when they still were named Xnote), and since then, I've been tracking P775TM owner's lounge etc.
What got my attention is that no one uses Clevo's overclocking utility. Everyone uses MSI Afterburner and ThrottleStop. My P775TM (with 8700K and GTX 1080, in case anyone happens to be curious) will be arriving in approx... 2 to 6 hours from now, according to courier, and I plan to undervolt my components for the first time. So I wanted to ask, what are the reasons why everyone uses third party tools instead of Clevo's utility, which to be fairly honest - looks pretty decent. I want to do it right so I don't spend ages fiddling there instead of moving on with my new toy.
Cheers to everyone who shares their opinion with me!

Its really personal preference, however, I would assume the main ones would be simplicity and familiarity/ support. The Clevo one is also a tad gimmicky with too much graphics going around.
I personally just used throttlestop for the CPU and NVinspector for the GPU after I've finished tuning. XTU is better for when you are still trying to find the right settings. -

It's really up to what works for you. The Clevo works fine for what it offers. You have more to play around with using the other applications.

It depends how much you like to play and use your own tools.
