Any recommendations on memory for this unit? Would like to up from 4gb (2x2) to 8gb. Any recommendations for brands and or/sources?

As a rule any brand will be fine. It is just to expensive to make RAM so not like mom and pops are doing. All should operate at specs fine. And all come with warranty. Confirm on last point. There are only like 5 companies in the world that make the actual DRAM chip that is the main component of the SO-DIMM.

I shop by price from NewEgg and if I see a known brand I feel even better.

Here is a link. I would consider any of these. Remember the 1066Mhz has a lower CL than 1333Mhz. So how those offset and actually function faster I am not sure of.

I like the Winstron at $245 best.

One more question, is the difference in cas latency something that I would notice. E.g, a couple of the chips are cl7 and are more expensive. Would the difference between those and a cl9 be noticeable?
Thanks for the response and link.

Take note the CL7 are all 1066 the CL9 are all 1333. I expect 1333 to have higher CL. But as I said not sure how it works out with these two. Which is really better performance. Also you must have i7 720 or higher to run at 1333Mhz speeds.

    I have 1333 CL9 and am happy with speeds/performance.

Thanks for the info. This machine has i7 820. Hoping to up the memory this week. At $245 the Newegg price is $20 more for 8gb, than what Sager wants for 4gb. A good deal!
