I just upgraded to Windows 8 due to the coming price hike. Everything installed great, but Hotkey doesn't work (or whatever the program is that allows for backlighting of the keyboard). I'm on version 6.0044, which is what came with my 9150 when I had Windows 7 on it. I downloaded the .zip file from the Sager driver downloads, but I'm not sure what to do with it. I'm kind of a noob at updating drivers, so how do I update the Hotkey utility? And will this fix my issue? Thanks!

The latest version for windows 8 of the hotkey driver is 8.0082 btw, and that works fine on mine so you should be alright after updating. To do the update extract the contents of the zip file to the desktop, open the folder and double click on the setup.exe file (or equivalent, i'm typing this from memory). Follow the instructions in the wizard and reboot, then you should be updated.

Uninstall previous Hotkey driver (6.0044) first on control panel + reboot. Then follow icehots tips.
After that you can open Hotkey 8.0082 by pressing Fn+Esc and configure your Backlight Keyboard.

Thanks guys! I tried that, but Windows flagged it as a program that could harm my computer and wouldn't let me open it...

That's probably the smart screen filter that's built into IE10 and windows, it's really really annoying so when I installed windows 8 you get the options to go with express settings or custom settings when you setup your login account and all that stuff, I went with custom and turned it all off. You can probably turn it off now by searching for smartscreen in control panel I would guess.

Alright thanks, I'll try that. I just shut down and turned the computer back on, and it seems that the backlighting now works, just not the the Fn key combination for the hotkey app.

Also, the hotkey drvier I downloaded from Sager's website for the 9150 is version 8.0067 for Windows 8. I'm assuming this will still work?
