    Ive received updates about the issue with plugging an external monitor to my DVI port. They are saying the problem is the 7950GTX and that using a 8700 would fix the problem. However, the 8700 seems much slower than the 7950GTX . They are offering to swap them at no charge (its priced the same on their site). However, its priced -100$ on most other sites.

    The 8700M is indeed priced lower at most of the sites, however you are stuck with the prices your reseller has..

    But you could always ask your reseller if they can give you a discount on their price OR if they maybe can offer you, for instance, a HD upgrade as compensation.
