Just wondering if anyone has gotten any info on the XR5 orders. Last I heard, they were going to start shipping, maybe tomorrow, most likely friday, or monday. Trying to figure out if I need to extend my airline ticket a couple days. Also, the userpanel page on their site is not working for me. Any info helps.

I emailed them earlier and the response I got was that the XR5 will ship without the 2nd vid card the week of 7 Jan. The second 8800, SLI bridge and associated drivers will ship late Feb.
I am still waiting for my status to change on my order page.
I also get the feeling that PCMW took the holidays off and are probably just getting back to work today. Systems should start shipping Monday. -
Agreed, that was the impression I got when I called them last week. They said possibly shipping later this week but I am still betting on the 7th for shipping.
I don't know the specifics of PCMicroworks getting these rolled out but assuming they have the 8800s in stock to install (like stated earlier, 1 now second later) you could probably call and see if they can expedite your shipment. I am not sure if they can but it wouldn't hurt to call them. -
I got a reply from them yesterday, saying they were shipping our units with a single card on the week on the 7th, and would ship the SLI card when it was ready from NVidia as they have to sort out the Vbios. -
I called them today and they told me it would ship out the week of the 7th and they apologized for the delay. They assured me it would be recieved before the end of the week. It actually works out better since I will be out of town this weekend and begining part of next week.

One thing to keep in mind is that PCmicroWorks will get the systems after the big 3. They will then need to modify it for their branding and unique items such as the carbon fiber top etc. This could explain the lag between their shipments and Sagers.

Good point Habib... I forgot about the Carbon Fiber cover.

I'm looking forward to recieving it tbh, it's gonna rock big time!! -
Yea I read that other post and it made me wonder. But I try to keep in mind that they are trying to like alienware in that they are trying to make a brand name out of their products (even though they are relabeling barebones) and in my opinion they are still young in the market. I think the surge of blackhawk orders they've gotten are really going to make the company grow on all levels.
If you notice, they don't even have a support section on their website for drivers and so on. I asked them about that and they said they will be rolling out with a support area in the near future. Currently they e-mail driver updates and so on to their customers upon request.
I'm not too worried. As long as the laptop performs well there shouldn't be any issues. -
Like you said, there are quite a few of us in these forums alone that have ordered various Blackhawks, and I htink there systems and price for the parts are quite good; I researched very thoroughly the competitors - and I don't need a paint job either - custom grade military carbon fibre top ftw
Actually a good point that you mentioned about the support section, recently I just realised this, and was wondering the same thing about support for drivers, esp drivers required for the MB and related devices that aren;t the video cards.
I might have to give them a call to relay my concerns after I read that guy's post as I have ordered it without an OS as I have Vista Ultimate 32/64bit already.
Well, not long before we get them, yay!! -
Man...anyone else here ready to jump in front of traffic from the waiting game?!?!?! I am usually a really patient person and I know its just around the corner but come on!!! I am dying here lol. -
I keep telling myself "this too shall pass".

And still no pictures of the carbon fiber on the webbsiteThey must have them now, they are suppose to deliver the first ones in a couple of days..
