I own a PCM Blackhawk aka clevo 900c, its the one when the 7950gtx was the best out there. Is it possible to upgrade to a new card or is it not compatible with the newer gen ones? If it is possible, is there a retailer that sells the cards individually? Thanks.

You can ask your retailer for component parts. It's possible they have some surplus parts they can part with.

If I recall correctly, depending on motherboard revision it may or may not support up to the 9800M GTX. Either that it was quad support? Someone back me up on this.

I'd agree with this. depending on the BIOS and the motherboard it should support either up to the 8800m series or the 9800m GTX. I'd contact your reseller, so you can give them your exact specs, and they'll be able to let you know what you can upgrade to.

If you got it with 7950s before the 8700s were released, then the best you'll be able to do without a motherboard upgrade is the 8700s. If the 8700s were already out there, and Clevo was prepping for the release of the 8800s, then it's possible depending on the revision number of your motherboard that you might be able to go with the 9800s; however, I would operate on the assumption that you will need a motherboard upgrade in order to run anything better than the 8700s until and unless you get specific information to the contrary.

Best place to start is one of the reputable resellers, who should be able to help you fully identify your system and its revision number (regrettably, your original reseller appears to be in dire straits, and is unlikely to be able to provide you with much assistance).

some have tested and were successful in putting a 8800M GTX in the notebook without any issues.

although I forgot if dual 8800M GTXs had issues or not for the first motherboard revision.

    ^^ yup.

get a new motherboard from a vendor like (RJtech) and install it yourself...

or contact your notebook's importer OEM (Sager, Pro-Star/Mtech, Eurocom) and have them upgrade it.

The versions of the motherboard prior to the release of the dual 8800M GTXs cannot support dual 8800M GTXs in SLi because nVidia decided to build most of the GPU card itself and refused to support the customary way most notebook makers used to get the display unit's EDID data to the GPU. As a result, a modification to the earlier motherboards was required - I never sussed out exactly what the modification was, but I do recall one of the resellers saying that it involved soldering a new IC onto the motherboard.

Oh man, theres a thread just like this in Gaming... Considering the D901c is probably only gonna be upgradeable to the 9800M GTX's... as in (not gonna be able to fit the D90F mobo) I want to just buy the new mobo and replace it myself, which I'm pretty confident I can do on my own. Its just. I've opened and taken this thing apart ALOT lol. (i love taking things apart) Its almost as if the chassis part you need to remove to get the mobo out is like, glued together... i dunno. THeres no real guides out there

Man, I do feel violated given that I was promised that this computer would be compatible with the 9 series video card.... Will there ever be a standard in mobile GPUs or do the manufacturers get a hard on when they release a notebook that has the latest and greatest only to be replaced by a new video card a year later and wont support upgrading?
