My Machine is a Clevo D900C (sager 9261) MB v5.0A.
I'm going to replace my actual GPU (7950GTX) to a 9800M GT.
I know that I should change the MB to a v6.x, but this MB can’t be found anywhere.
I read somewhere (here possibly) that mxm-upgrade says that it can be possible (I already have my bios in v.22).
In the next week I will have the new GPU and try to change. I don’t care about SLI enable or not. I just want to upgrade my GPU.
    I haven’t found anyone o tried this.
I will post my results in the next week, until then any suggestions?

I am curious to see how it goes for you my friend.
I am thinking about upgrading mine as well, although i have a 9260, had 2 7950gtx too but one of them just died on me. MOFO
Not really a hit in performance...

Waiting to see how it goes. Good luck!

I think there could be a power issue, but I’m only using one card. Hopefully I can get my hands on the GPU tomorrow.
I already got some nice people sending me the upgrade MB price ;) , if everthing goes wrong it by be the only solution.

I just received the GPU. It was from a Clevo M860TU. GPU: NB9E-GT2 (9800M GT 512Mb), it seems to be in good condition. Tomorrow I will test it. I hope I can adapt/use the old heatsink.

Already managed to change the GPUs. There was some small adaption to the heatsink, but nothing especial. The Bios recognises the 9800M GT, but the windows 7 X64 don't (standard VGA adapter )! Already flash de vbios but didn't work. Any ideias? Tomorrow i will post some pictures.

Last night I updated the drivers and that solved the problem. I have been using it for several hours, the GPU temp is stable at 48-53ºC in normal use, when gaming is goes to 68ºC (max until now).
The old card (left) and the new one (right):

The new car inserted (without the heat sink):

Everything is working and stable. :D

I think that any MXM-IV 2.1 card should work (except in SLI mode).

You have to increase the holes (4) size in the heatsink so that the screws can pass and firmily attach to the graphic card.
