About a year ago I purchased the system below from Malibal.

    SKU P151HM1
    PRODUCT Lotus P151HM1
Display: 15.6" 1920 x 1080 FHD LED Backlit Matte Display
    Processor: Intel® CoreT i7-2670QM, 6MB L3 Cache, 2.2-3.1GHz
    Memory: (8GB) 8192MB, PC3-12800/1600MHz DDR3 - 2 SO-DIMM
    Graphics Card: NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 560M 1.5GB GDDR5

    Hard Drive: 500GB 7200rpm 2.5" SATA 300 Hybrid w/ 4GB NAND Flash
Optical Drive Bay: 8X Multi DVD+/-R/RW RAM Dual-Layer Drive

    Operating System: Microsoft® Windows® 7 Home
    Premium; 64-bit
Wireless: Internal 802.11B/G/N LAN and Bluetooth Card
Cooling: IC Diamond 7 Thermal Compound, CPU & GPU

I was wondering if there are any upgrades available? Specifically for the processor / RAM and Graphics card. I believe this GPU is use-upgradeable along with the RAM/CPU?

If so can you tell me what is available, and the cost of upgrading these components, and if Malibal would upgrade them for me?

Technically the HM1 video card is not userupgradable, the HM is. You may be able to get another 75w TDP card to work in there like the 670M but you dont want to use any of the 100w TDP cards.
You can upgrade the RAM, with Window 7 Home it will recognize up to 16GB, anything more you need Pro, Ultimate, or Windows 8.
For the CPU it will support any 2nd gen Intel CPU (Sandy Bridge)

You will want to contact Malibal directly to see if they will upgrade for you, they no longer post here.

max.upgrades possible for ur machine would be the following:

    - cpu: 2960xm, with a bit of luck u can get one on ebay for around 400€. next in line would be the 2860qm for around 200€ (im selling one on ebay at the moment :p)

    - gpu: u can upgrade to 100w gpus, but ull have to get the 180w psu from the p150hm first. most powerful cards would be the 7970m (modified vbios necessary, costs around 500$) or the 680m (modified drivers necessary, costs around 750$)

    - ram: up to 32GB possible, max. speed supported is 1866 mhz. as mentioned before, ull need win8 pro or equivalent win7 to support more than 16GB. cost is quite low, u can get 2x8GB of 1866 ram for around 100€

    - ssd: recommendable choices at the moment are the samsung 840 pro, ocz vector and plextor m5pro for highend. cost efficient would be crucial m4 and samsung 830. cost would be around 150-250€ for 256gb, depending on ur choice.

    cheers

What is HM1, what is HM?? What are some 75w TDP (What is TDP) Sorry this is above my pay grade, can you clarify? Why can I not upgrade it "Technically"? What does that mean, would it take advanced knowledge to upgrade the GPU, it's not plug and play?? Thanks.

There are two models available. In the Sager world the HM1 was the NP8130 HM was NP9150. The NP9150 was the only one that supported upgrading the video card. While they were very similar the components on the motherboard were different and only designed for 75w TDP GPU's, while the 100w TDP cards may work they will also most likely shorten the life of the motherboard. What the TDP refers to is their power draw, the more powerful ones like the GTX 675M and above are more power hungry, more then what the motherboard is designed for. Mobile video cards typically are not plug and play, not like desktops. You typically have to update the BIO/vBIOS. Especially when trying to put in GPU that was released after the computer stopped being made.

You can upgrade the RAM, with Window 7 Home it will recognize up to 16GB, anything more you need Pro, Ultimate, or Windows 8.

Would I get any benefit of just doubling my current RAM type from 8 to 16GB, or would I better off getting rid of the RAM I have now and getting 8GB of a faster RAM type?

You only benefit from more RAM if you use it. Lets say what you're doing only requires 4GB of RAM. The extra you put in there does you no good at all if its not being used. However faster RAM does help as everything goes through RAM at some point. For the most part its not anything you would ever notice though.

For the CPU it will support any 2nd gen Intel CPU (Sandy Bridge)

Forgive my noobness, can you be more specific as to which CPU's would be upgrades for me? Like the i7 XXXX?

You can put any i7 2XXX in there.

You will want to contact Malibal directly to see if they will upgrade for you, they no longer post here.

Why is that? Are they still reputable? Will you guys do the upgrade for me instead??

Cant comment on the part. I'm sorry we only offer upgrades on computers originally pruchased from us.
