Newegg has 4 gig PQI Memory listed for 90 bucks Shipping included.

    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...1309121118+1309221140&name=DDR2+800+(PC2+6400)

Since the Clevo's are the only Laptops capable of useing the ddr2 800 at it's rated speed I thought this was the right place to post this Info.

I installed this memory last night and it works just fine at it's rated speed.

    Pic's of the install:

The D901C does support 800MHz memory because it uses the desktop Intel 965 chipset.

It is the laptop 965 chipset that only supports up to 667MHz system memory, even though the front side bus is 800MHz.

Hey Donald, since this is all about memory, is the G4Skill , PQI and Corsair memory compatible with the M570RU ? I`m looking for a good upgrade to 4 gigs, and I`m overseas right now,and somebody can bring it to me from the US.

I am sorry eleron911 but Sager does not publish the memory brands that they have tested. Most DDR2/667 200 pin SODIMMS will work, but until you install and test it you will never know for sure.

Well, I know you`re all supose to say that it is major brand ,so I`ll ask you as a laptop owner to another...
Will the PQI be compatible? :D ( that is, if you ever tested it yourself, I don`t want any company secrets).

No, we have not personally tested any of the brands you mentioned in a Sager NP579x.

I really wish I could be more helpful, but unless you want to order the memory directly from Sager, sadly, you have to use your own devices to test any brand of memory for compatibility.

If Sager could offer me 4 gigs of memory for 80 $ like newegg, I would. That not being the case here, I`m going to go for it anyway, since at this price I`m probably giving up some beers and gas for the car...

I know the 965 chipset supports 8GB of RAM, but can the D901C support 8GB? Does anyone even make 4GB SODIMM's?

We have not been able to find anyone making 4GB SODIMM pieces...and neither has Google...

There are a lot of 4GB "kits" out there...but no single pieces.

I just installed CPU-Z on my machine, and here's what I came up with:

Mainboard tab says it's the 965 Chipset
SPD tab says Apacer Technology, 1024MB, PC2-5300 (333MHz) for both slots

So, Sager's RAM = Apacer. Hope that helps.

DJ, can you download and run CPU-Z and post up the screencaps with the 800MHz RAM in it?

Remember this is PC2-5300 so you have to multiply the clock speed by 2 to get the actual clock speed of 667MHz.
