Hey guys, I was wondering if it was at all possible to upgrade a Sager NP2090 from a T7300 to a T9300? What should I look out for? The heat and voltage along with socket seems to be the same, but I've never put a CPU in a laptop before. It's been a year and I feel like its time for a refresh, so I've stuck 4gig of ram in there and I want to get a new CPU.

It will work, but the disassembly of the notebook won't be easy. I don't know if there is something like a detailed service manual for Sagers, if yes I would strongly advise to read and follow it, because the insides of notebooks are so cramped that a wrong sequence of taking it apart might damage it.

Alright, another question. Would it even be worth it to upgrade to a T9300 from a T7300? I game quite a bit and run intensive applications such as photoshop and some hi-def movie editing. 350 is a bit steep.

Its your decision, it will be faster. In benchmarks it will be much, in apps, it will for example take some minutes less to encode a video, in games, you won't notice much.

I thought I read somewhere a while ago that the NP2090 didn't support the T8X00 and T9X00 CPUS without a BIOS update... although I'm not sure :S
