    Hi all

I'm looking to upgrade my NP5793 to the 9800m gt (ironically the 8800m gt's are too expensive) but I have a few questions. Does it matter if the card was pulled from say a Dell or Alienware computer?
Also once I upgrade how do I upgrade the bios to insure that it works?
    Sorry for the noob questions.

Are you sure about that Gophn? My understanding of the matter is that, notwithstanding the formal "compliance" with the MXM standards, MXM-based GPUs are still largely a proprietary affair, and thus an MXM-based GPU from a _Dell, for example, will not fit into a Clevo, and vice-versa. Of course I could always be wrong, and I'm happy to be corrected if I am, but that is/was my understanding from when this topic was thrashed out about a year or so ago.

create a bootable usb stick using the guide in my sig and extract the updates onto it. Then boot into dos from the usb stick and type "updateEC" (without quotes), then reboot into dos again and type "update". You're done, remove the usb stick, and boot as normal. You may need to go into the bios to reset the options as you want them.

    Here are the latest updates.

When updating the KBC/EC and BIOS, your notebook will beep alot, this is normal.
