Hi all, I've finally decided to upgrade my Sager.
Right now I'm running 8GBs of RAM, i7-2630QM, 540M and a WD Scorpio Black 500GB.
I'm thinking of switching out the wireless card with a Killer, getting an SSD (I only play one game), possibly graphics upgrade (if anyone knows where to get mobile graphics, please let me know), and a Windows upgrade.

    Few questions.
    1. Is the wireless card upgrade worth it?
    2. Where do I get/install mobile graphics?
    3. Can you push the NP5170 to 16GBs of RAM with a Windows upgrade or can the MOBO only handle 8GBs?

    Thanks

    1. Only if you're going to be using programs that require a high transfer speed and/or are optimized for using a lot of bandwidth, such as gaming or torrents. Casual use wouldn't really deem it necessary.
    2. Physical installation or driver installation? Driver installation you would just go to your reseller's website or to the component manufacturer's site.
    3. Not sure on the RAM cap. Although 8GB is suppose to be the max, there are exceptions where people where users were able to expand beyond the specified max.

Per your questions 2. Where do I get/install mobile graphics?
You cant upgraded the GPU on the NP5170, its just going to have the one that in there.

For questions 1 and 3, Pro Star's got you covered.

I was able to push an old HP to 16GBs even though 8 was the cap just by upgrading to Windows 7 Professional.
Not too sure if that goes with other laptops.
I've heard a RAM upgrade can help with streaming, though.

8GB should be plenty for streaming. When doing your thing open up task manager and see how much RAM is being used under the perforamance tab. Its tough to max out 8GB unless doing video rendering or maybe photo editing with alot of RAW files open. Windows 7 Home will support 16GB, maybe you have 32bit installed as it will only support 4GB, 64bit 16GB, then you can get 192GB with Pro, Enterprise, or Ultimate on 64bit.
