Hello. Just wondering, is it possible to buy a USED Clevo 170em, with say a 660m graphics card or such in it, and then send the laptop to Sager to have it upgraded to a 7970m? If so, what is involved in that process and how much will it cost? Or even better, since the Clevo is upgradeable, maybe I can do this process myself and save some money. Any advice/help is greatly appreciated here. Thanks!

This actually what the Sagers are built with in mind. They're designed to be upgradable and typically just about anybody can do. I believe current going price is around $4-500 for a 7970. You can also send it back into Sager for that upgrade, they tie those sorts of things to the serial number of the machine and so you won't need to worry about ownership changing hands. If you're looking for costs, it's best to contact them directly as they prefer to handle all of that through their techsupport department.

Certainly doable for an end-user, but if you're inexperienced you're safer sending it off for the upgrade (sometimes even the "experienced" are better off doing this). You can find disassembly/upgrade guides and videos, but for the Clevos you need to hunt them down.
