Ok so this sucks. I'm playing on my Sager NP5125 when all of a sudden, the screen starts darkening and lighting again. I look at the power and it says "plugged in, not charging". I try shutting down, taking out the battery and putting it back in. still no fix. eventually the battery dies and shuts down, and I try fixing it again and start it back up and it starts beeping loudly and shuts itself down again. then i try fixing it again and start it back up and it gives me a windows error recovery screen. Still beeping (which im sure indicates that the battery is dying) it shuts down again. Now the battery is completely dead and my computer will not turn on. Yes it is plugged in. Idk what the hell happened, nothing has changed since this morning and now. I looked it up on the internet and it said that it could be a corrupted power management software, but now I can't even get on the computer to fix it. I tried taking out the battery and leaving it plugged in but that didn't fix it. Please tell me is going on, this notebook is my baby and I've been keeping extremely good care of it and its only about a month or two old. Thanks

This is Windows 7 64 bit. Specs are in signature
Also, the power supply box has a green light like normal, so its not the cord

does it work plugged in but with the battery removed.
it could be a dodgy power brick.
best thing to do is sent a message to sager tech support as its only a month old.

no it doesnt work. idk if it's a battery issue or what. All I did that could even remotely be an issue was take the battery out and remove the bottom cover to spray the fan, which i always make sure to meticulously put back to normal, and also I switched the power plan from high performance to balanced (the combination of high performance and the dusty fan was making it overheat and shut itself down, if that has anything to do with this let me know).

Id rather call tech support but their only open weekdays until 5:30, and I work every weekday until 5:30, so im f***ing pissed. I'll send them an email, luckily its still under 1 year warranty but this shouldn't be happening to a brand new notebook

if it doesnt work plugged into mains then it sounds like a dodgy power brick/mains lead. does it have a light on the brick when its plugged in. might be worth changing the fuse in the brick to see if that helps.

If the brick is suspect you may be able to measure the voltage. Do you have a multimeter? Should be XX DC Volts coming out of the supply. The DC output value may be printed on the bottom of the supply brick.

Like MrDJ said I could be a bad power adapter or a lose DC jack.
If the jack wiggles a lot then the jack is damaged and needs to be replaced.
The damage happens from stress of the cable pulling on the jack or abuse when the laptop is picked up while its in use or some times people trip over the power cord by accident.

yeah the light on the power brick is on. this seems to have happened after i took the battery out to open it up and spray the fan. I doubt it's a battery issue though if it was picking up the charge but just not charging. Theres literally nothing wrong on the outside, besides the fact that it won't turn on.

Your gonna need to be more specific on what you want me to look at on the brick. I honestly have no idea about anything with the power. Like I said before I think it could be a bugged power management software. I wish I could just turn it on and reinstall the software >.>

Ok so the light that indicates the power is plugged in isn't on. So I think that pinpointed the problem (but I don't know what the problem is)

so anyone know whats up let me know

That has to be a hardware problem, there is no chance that it is bugged software. Either the power supply is damaged (unlikely if the light is green, but possible) or the power circuitry on the motherboard is damaged. Send it to sager to fix.
