Anywhere i can find one? or refurb?
Xoticpc has it for 1404$ non-used but its over my 1500 CANADIAN DOLLARS budget. not that long ago maybe afew months us and canadian dollar were about the same but with the current economy, buying some 1400$ USD is 1708$ CAD which is really...pissing me off.
My other alternative so far is to buy one of the few used Gateway P7811-fx going around but the look/weight/no blu-ray combined is making me hesitate. (But i do LOVE the glossy screen lol)
Mainly wanna play: WoW full settings/ Warhammer full settings/ CSS full settings/ watch movies, do school work. -_-

a number of people are selling theirs in the Buy Sell Trade section:
http://forum.notebookreview.com/forumdisplay.php?f=18 -
-
It's called the search forum option. Like google, it's your friend.
-
it seems that they have sold, since the threads are gone.
Have you tried contacting Eurocom?
they will price match or beat the prices of same systems from the US vendors. -
there are some on ebay for great deal:
link here -
Someone in whitby is selling their Asus G50V (with 9800M GS) for $1500 CAD:
http://toronto.en.craigslist.ca/drh/sys/918732382.html -
I noticed the 9800 GS on the Asus, i was wondering in what order are the following cards best to worst:
8800 GTX - 9800 GTS - 9800 GS
Besides will a NP5793 or equivalent allow me to play maxed out WoW/Warhammer/CSS?
EDIT#1: Can you tell me more about eurocom?? im browsing their website at this moment but i dont see anything about hte price match and would it be the exact NP5793 or an equivalent build for cheaper?
EDIT#2: Thanks for that craiglist link too, if you come by another just post it here or pM if you can, helps me out a bunch, i must say im not a fan of how Asus laptop looks, and the resolution on that lappy isnt 1920x1200 (i cant tell the diff its gonna be my first own personnal laptop, altho ive read the image is nicer and its just better and espcially if theres a blue-ray drive etc) but those specs are very nice, the price is very very decent and im guessing i will be able to run the 3 games i wanna run maxed out with it. -
the 9800M GS has the same specs as the GTS, but has a slightly lower core clock.
Other than that, the 9800M GS is quite bang for the buck.
the 8800M GTX will perform comparable to the 9800M GT/GTS.
Eurocom's site seems high priced at first, but its best to directly contact them, email or phone is best. Ask for John Shore.
- they are pretty good about making their systems price competitve if you point out other quotes from other vendors.
Any high-end card (256-bit mem interface) will play those games at max easily. -
Man, thanks for all those replies, i can't ask for faster replies.
I was considering a m15x Alienware on ebay, the guy has it in montreal(same city as me) and current bid is 1621 CAD. I might try to work something out with him if he answers me. Any reason i should not consider it? Specs are:

Only things i dont like is: lack of numberpad, 15 inch instead of 17 and i heard alienware feels really cheap when you actually own one and use it.
Specwise i cant see why i wouldnt want it. Thanks. -
looks well spec'ed.... but....
AW warranty will not cover you at all since their warranties are not transferable.
So if it breaks, you will be on your own.
M15x is a decent machine, but feels like Russian Roulette... either its perfect and fine... or fails. -
Check out Eurocom, they have a 5% graduate discount as well, or a trade in program if you have an old laptop or desktop. And they're Canadian.
-
Also that alienware that i posted earlier.
I emailed a few ppl in toronto as well, about a sager np5793, a guy on ebay about his sager np5793, some dell XPS 1730 with good customization and i contacted eurocom asking about their price match policies. So i will be waiting for the replies from all of those to see how things go. I was really mind fixed on sager np5793 or gateway p7811-fx because of performance for every dollar i spend but going with that used Asus with similar specs might just be good. the only thing im like ish is the nvidia 9700GT DDR3 graphic card which, i cant tell the difference, but sounds less good than the 8800,9800 series. Also the guy that wrote it has like 20 errors per sentence, which can happen if you are like me a french canadian writing in english but he's writing in english. At least its in the same city so i could see. -
The 9700M GT is quite a bit weaker than the 9800M GTS, but it really depends on what you intend to run on it. If you're fine with the performance of the 9700M GT, you'll be quite fine with the smaller lighter G50V.

WOW and CSS maxed out should not be a problem for the 9800M GS, especially if it's the lower res screen. Wow may experience some FPS drops during massive raids or in cities though. As for Warhammer Online, you may be able to max it, but possibly at the cost of smooth framerates.

hey ive tried contacting eurocom three times now in 3 days, diff emails, etc. (actually maybe in 5 days). No answers at all, nothing, like they don't read their emails. Anyone have a clue why they're not answering lol. Because right nwo customizing equivalent to the NP5793 on their website goes up to like 2.1k CAD$$(when i can buy it in the us for equivalent of like 1680 cad).
-
At any rate, if their service is unsatisfactory, go with someone else you find more comfortable. I find it very odd and very interesting that some users get replies instantly and others don't seem to get replies at all. I wonder if we're emailing the same addresses.
Used NP5793??
