I finally broke down and bought a second monitor to help with some of the multitasking that I do at home. I would like to make the external monitor the primary but when I go into display setting the option to make “primary” is grayed out. I can attach the external monitor to extend my desktop but I am still stuck with using the laptop as my primary screen. Is the option to switch the primary not available for laptops? Or am I missing a step?

    Sager 5760 / M570U
    Windows XP SP2
External Monitor: ViewSonic Optiquest 20” Wide DVI LCD Q20wb

Thanks in advance for any help.

you go into Nvidia Control Panel (Display Properties)
    - go into nView

And there should be options to do what you want with your displays, it should be in the manual as well.
