I'm about to buy a digital camera (Canon XTI) and I noticed that the memory card is not an SD, but a CF (compact flash). I know the 5760 has a 7 card reader, but CF is not listed as one of them. Will the sager be able to read this card and if not does anyone know what I need to do to be able to use this type of card?

    Thanks in advance.

The Camera should come with a USB plug, so you could just use that.....

I believe you need an adapter for CF. And most digital cameras come with a usb connection like Nydas mentions.

I bought a Rebel XT a few months back and it does indeed come with a USB adapter. Basically the camera acts as a card reader. Grats on the new camera. I love mine and am looking for an upgrade to a full frame sensor in the future (5D).

There are lots of USB xx in 1 card reader for notebooks (most of them are very slim with USB cord that tucks inside). Go to your local computer store. I think it's worth the purchase as you can save the battery life of your camera for file transfers or just clean up the millions pics you will take ;).

Here's the newegg page for card reader:

    You can go 2 ways:
    1. Buy a specific card reader only for CF cards. This could be the slimmest option, but not necessarily the most usefu one because it's limited; But then again, the 5760 can handle SD cards.
    2. Buy an xx in 1 card reader
    3. Try to fin an xpresscard card reader. This one could be left in the 5760.
