Since the 7970M doesn't have optimus, does anyone know if there will be a way to manually turn off the 7970M and use integrated video? I believe I have read some people have managed to get it to work with the 6990M, but any information is helpful.

    Thanks!

All we currently have is the conjecture that if it works with one AMD card, things should be no different with the other.

Sellers will have to get their hands on the 7970M, to find out 100%.

    The 7970M should support PowerXpress.

Not sure if the motherboard is wired to accommodate it.

Intel+Radeon hybrid graphics is very quirky from a driver and hardware standpoint.

Ive been trying to find out if P170EM will support PowerExpress as that is the deciding factor to go with 7970M (i dont want to be stuck with the dreadful HM battery life on an EM) but no luck so far, nothing concrete yet.

"The Radeon HD 7970M, apart from the ZeroCore technology carried over from its desktop counterparts, also packs a feature called AMD Enduro Technology, which "seamlessly powers down" the GPU when not required, below even 1W. The HD 7970M, we're hearing, scored many design wins, and should be launched by several notebook vendors today. "

This doesnt mean it will work in Clevos, the laptop has to support this.

And nothing will be concrete until the Clevo/Sager dealers actually get them in their hands probably. Mythlogic got it working with the 6990m, so it should but we don't know for certain yet.

PowerExpress is the auto overclock feature.

The battery saving feature akin to Optimus for Nvidia is called Enduro from Ati/AMD.

Yeah I hope Enduro works on the P150EM. If it doesn't I really don't know if I want it sadly :/ I need 4 hours + of battery if on low brightness + no wifi, so i can take notes in class also ha.

Yeah that's what's holding me off from getting the 7970m too. If 7970m supported Enduro or whatever AMD decides to call their switchable graphics, then I would probably go with a P150EM. I need 4-5 *usable* hours battery life also.
