    Hello,

Last week I bought a Clevo W550SU1 laptop. It has an i5-4210M 2.5GHz, 8Gb of RAM and a WD scorpio black 320GB HD.

I'm using the laptop for work (software development) and on the project I'm currently working I have an application that registers some data into two databases. I've noticed that the application is a lot slower than expected and the disk usage on the windwos task manager is always very close to 100%. On the PC I was using before the application was running without this kind of issues and it had a worse CPU, less memory and a 5400RPM disk.

On my new PC first I've installed windows 7, but I couldn't find all the drivers for that OS version, so I had to install windows 8.1 that I'm now using. But I had this problem with my application in both OS versions. As for the tools I'm using to develop my project, they are exactly the same versions in both PCs

On the windows resource monitor when the application is running I've noticed that the disk usage gets up to 100% and the write speed is always bellow 1MB/s, while in the older PC the disk usage stays arround 30-40% and the write speed goes arround 5MB/s. Here's some screenshots from the resource montitor for both PCs, in the older PC it's in portuguese but the fields are in the same positions as in the english version:

I don't think that the disk as any physical issues because in CrystalDiskInfo and in WD Data Lifeguard Diagnostics everything seems to be ok.

Is this caused by some drivers issue? It seems that the disk write speed is limited to 1MB/s. I'm getting very frustrated with this problem since the PC is brand new and I wasn't expecting to have a problem like this.

ive never heard of this model number before and all i can find on clevo website is W550SU2 and theres not many drivers for that either.
if you bought the laptop with an operating system already installed then you should of got a drivers disc and an operating system disc included. if you didnt contact the supplier where you bought it.

using a mixture of drivers from windows 7 and 8 is never a good idea.

    Here's the CrystalDiskMark test result:

I installed the OS myself and installed all the drivers that were in the drivers CD.

It seems that only the nimxs.exe processes are being limited in the new PC. It's weird because the version of that software is exactly the same as in the older PC.
