I am getting very low download speeds with my wireless card, only 100 kbits/sec when downloading bf3 on origin

i went and plugged in my old external usb wifi card and now it downloads at 2 mbits/sec....

Am i doing something wrong in the killer wireless settings?

Any metal objects near your wireless router? Including computers. Also provide the type of encryption you use for your wireless router.

well there is the tv next to the router. Also i only have 2/ bars of connection in windows opposed to 4/5 on my external one.

Im using a cisco E2000, which hasnt got an antenna sticking out. encryption is with WPA on the 2.4 GHz band

Did you try using the laptop next to your router and see if it's still getting 100Kbit/s?

I too wondered why I'm getting lower signal strength with my Killer 1002 compared to my old crappy laptop with stock wlan card.
Received bandwidth is about the same though.

You could try, 5GHz isn't affected by the surrounding objects that much like the 2.4GHz does.
