Are there any videos of the 5793 running some typical games (Crysis, bioshock, Assassin's creed, WiC, Cod4). I searched youtube but got nothing. I would love to see it in action... maybe someone could make some videos. Of course with a camera, not screen capture (which will slow the system down).

Oh I didn't realize novatech was the sager. But thats only crysis and for some reason there is a dark cloud in the upper part of his screen. The rest of the vids are noise level vids and the grid one is on an 8700GT. Anyone else got some vids?

Umm, the cloud is glare from a ceiling light in the room...

    >>>and that is one horrible camera taking the vid... but that machine sure does run great :D and overclocks nicely- yet can be put on powersaving mode and low fan for quiet operation. I think I should buy one. :D

Smood, hehe, I have one, but my system is with the 7950GTX, so it`s not that valid.
You can expect the 5793 to play Crysis all high at 1440x900, with 30+fps.
If you OC the GPU, there will be even better results.

I agree @smood. He might OC his system beyond redemption.
But yes, STOCK 8800M GTX cannot play Crysis at WUXGA, unless 15 fps is acceptable :)

I think that he was just so excited about gettiing it that he started exaggerating. The hype and adrenaline probably fueled that post.

Nirvana you are not going to touch 40 fps avg even with a stable OC. Thats my personal guarantee. Maybe not even 30.

8800M GTX SLI OCed plays at ~30-35 at WUXGA, his single 8800M GTX stands no chance against SLI :)

    Haha lol.
In the beginning ever my 7950GTX has awesome framerates with ALL high WUXGA.
Try a part in the game with grass, sunlight and things moving :) WUXGA, all HIGH.
And use FRAPS to monitor so we can see exactly how "smooth" it is :)

Wow 30 is not bad. But I'm sure that is your high fps at those settings and res... as soon as you have some action you will drop like a stone.

Also eleron if he uses fraps to capture its going to cut his frames in half. The best thing he can do is use an external cam to capture it.

I don`t think Fraps cuts fps in half. Worst case scenario, 1-2 fps less. But I trust it enough to see.
And Nirvana, in the nighttime, shaders are almost not even used. As soon as it`s daylight, wham ,the shaders kick in and the fps goes down the drain.
Just play like 20 mins, it`s easy to get to where the sun rises and then post screenshots.

Yep, I used to play all high at wsxga and it ran pretty well, but with my CPU OC'ed at 2.8 Ghz I actually got a very nice performance increase... no GPU OC.

WSXGA=1440x900, that`s nowhere near as stressing as WUXGA...

My bad I was thinking wsxga as in the 1680 screen size offered for a 5793... I run at 1680.

That`s WSXGA+ and still not as stressing as WUXGA=1920x1200 :) Especially not in fights, high density forest parts or in the guerilla warfare levels.
Or worse, the inside of the ship ...

Aye, I second that. A second test would help make things clearer. Also , any 8800MGTX that has a WUXGA screen, could you post your Crysis results?

i know crysis is a demon, but how are people's performance for WUXGA on other games? the 8800M GTX is supposed to handle stuff like CoD4 well at 1920x1200, right?

I have tried it at wuxga and it works... on high settings, but not very well. that is actually the setting I used when I started the game, it ran ok until I got off the beach into the deeper forest with more enemies (or looking down at the beach from a hilltop) and it was like hitting a brick wall. Since then I backed down to wsxga+ and it works there pretty well.

    >>>I'll install FRAPS and run Crysis a bit @ 1920. You just want the test thing or some actual gameplay data(it varies though). I'll post data before end of weekend. You know- I haven't even tried Crysis since I installed 174.90... now I'm curious.

FPS are bad, very, very bad.
I'm going to eh, I dunno. Something is very wrong. First I'm going to reinstall Crysis. Then, I might have to go back to old gpu driver. I was getting 9fps @ 1600x1024. When I first loaded @ 1900 the textures were all jacked up and it took like 3 seconds for the texures to "reload" and fix themselves... sigh

    What the hell. Thats messed.

Oh an eleron, FRAPS video capturing most certainly doesn't just decrease by 2-3 fps. Its closer to half. Try it out.

    I did .Look here : http://youtube.com/watch?v=vK-K9WwSQmI
That`s my 7950GTX playing Crysis at all high, except objects on medium, at 1024x768 ,at ~20 fps.
Are you telling me I should have 40? :D
2-3 fps is the realistic figure.

There is a bigggg misunderstanding here. I'm not talking about using FRAPS to display FPS. That has minimal impact. I mean making an actual movie of your gameplay with fraps. What you showed me is a recording with an external camera.

making a recording using internal computer programming during gameplay is ridiculous and smashes frame rates. you will never get real-world information this way.

    very true though:

if anybody wants to do me a very weird favor, i've got a very weird request :)

As people who have read my posts in other threads know, i'm so paranoid about my np5793 having the same problem as my m15x. that is, the keyboard response rate problems.

anybody want to take a video of themselves typing on one as fast as they possibly can, so i can see if theres any response drop? oh man...i must seem like such a lunatic lol. Put some game footage in there too!

Yes Bahrain, in the middle east. It's great man, atleast in this country! No restrictions like Saudi... no internet censorship, everything's open! Great life... and a lot of races working together here. My good friend's group includes indians, filipinos, americans, europeans and chinese! What more could I want ? :) And it took me $289 to ship via UPS with order tracking.. that's the most expensive but recommended option.
I would have come up with the video sooner, ie. when I first received the laptop (that was the plan) but I couldn't stop using it once I started.. :p :D

I wonder if that 3870X2 will be any better than the 88/9800M GTX . It must be the first time we`ll see a double card on a single platter :)
