I have been strugling with this for a month. I have tried:
    - Test memory with memtest86 No errors!
    - HD with SeaTools (latest version) No errors!
    - Memory again with tye MS memory tester (in a bootabe CD) and using extended test (4 passes) No errors!
    - Format and use a clean Vista OS (no drivers) Blue screen came even with out installing any driver.

The only pattern I see is that some times the blue screen comes when doing large file IO like backup to externl USB drive, etc.

I also checked the external drives and found no errors.

    My config:
    2 seagate 100gb 7200 in RAID 0 mode
    2gb RAM
    Cpu FX-60
    Video: 7800 GTX

The blue screen shows a BAD_APP_POOL_HEADER

    Suggestions?

    Thanks in advance

Inside of the Recovery Console (or any command prompt from Safe Mode)
    type:
    CHKDSK C: /R

I already did that. Actually I also checked the hard drives using the Seagate tools that can perform a sector by sector check.

    No errors found.

    Thanks

I installed Vista Ultimate on my D900K before.... I did not like it.

Although I didnt run into problems like you. I went back to XP Pro, which is much more stable and optimized.

I would recommend to go to Safe Mode and install the D900K Vista drivers, then boot back into Normal Mode and see if that helps.

Hehe, you wont believe it but....

I am actually using an Intel 2200BG Wifi Card in my AMD-based Clevo D900K. hehe. :D

So the driver support was not even a concern for me.

Intel would frown if they realized that their Centrino wifi card was being used within an AMD system. ;)

I know you tested the memory, but it would not be the first time memory tested OK and was bad. Catching these kinds of issues can be tricky, but since this occured before any drivers were loaded, we can probably rule out video and audio drivers, which are two of the more likely culprits.

First thing I would do is temporarily remove one stick of memory (I see you have 2gb--hoping that is 2 one gb sticks). Run your system, does the error repeat?

If so, insert the stick you removed and remove the one you did not and repeat.

Also, make sure the RAM is well seated.

Second, does the error occur when you are using wireless networking? Disable it and try a hardwire. Does the error recur? Reverse this, diabling the wired and enabling the wireless. Does error occur? Disable both. Does error recur?

Third, consider that the problem cause may be the LACK of a driver, specifically the via chgipset driver and or the AMD cpu driver. Install one at a time, test system. Does error recur? Install the other.

I sent my D900k to Hypersonic, and after 1 month they sent the notebook, according to support they "changed" the MB. It took less than 10 minutes to get the blue screen.

While investigating, I found an interesting KB article http://support.microsoft.com/kb/933938 This could be my issue since most of the times, I get the BOSD (blue screen of death) after moving a large number of files to my external USB drives.

I disabled the card reader and changed the USB drives policy to "quick" removal and so far it is working fine.

I suspect the problem is related to the USB host controller since also the web cam don't work properly (I had to disable it since a while back).

Last test I will do if I get the BOSD, will be to install a clean OS, no drivers, no external drives, ebrything disabled and try to get the error again.

    Will keep updated this thread.

Finnaly what did the trick was disabling the vista windows defender, found in a differnt forum some clues. I had been free of BSOD for about 2 weeks.
