Hi! I am thinking about getting an ultra portable gaming laptop for when I start school and I have been reading reviews for the W110ER/ NP6110. The comp sounds really good in terms of power/ portability but I would like to hook it up to an external monitor, keyboard, and mouse when at home since the screen is probably too small to be my only laptop (I was originally thinking about getting a desktop too but that would be pricy.)

I was wondering how this laptop would handle being hooked up to one external screen (nothing too fancy) while playing games like d3 and skyrim on highest setting. Would I have to lower the resolution/ settings at all?

You should check notebookcheck.net for a rough idea of how the GT 650 performs. They are not very specific about their settings/resolution or test procedures, so I would only take the results as a best case estimate.

I myself do not consider anything below 50fps average as playable, so it looks like you would need to turn some settings down. Diablo III apparently runs well on high. Skyrim probably would have acceptable frame rates between medium and high. As for 1920x1080 play, you will need to turn a few settings down. I can't say which though.

There is a video on YouTube of an owner of the Clevo W110ER who had a 60" TV as his "External Monitor". For Diablo 3, he had the resolution at 1920x1080 with ALL high settings and it ran very smooth. I saw another video from him with him playing BF3 on this TV at the same resolution, however at lower settings. I Believe it was Medium or High settings.

The GT 650M is a respectable mid level graphics card. It can run the less demanding games like D3 well but will struggle in the higher demanding games like Skyrim or BF3 when you have everything set to max settings. Lowering those to medium settings will get you much better FPS.
