Hello, I have a W110ER with a 3610qm. From reading the forums, i know that there is some sort of throttling occuring and using ThrottleStop, You can stop this.

However all the links for ThrottleStop are old or dont work, And i don't know the settings for the program.
Can anyone shed some light on how to get the full 3.2ghz out of the chip while gaming?

(I've already modded the bios with Prema mod 1.4)

    Cheers

To enable CPU Turbo with GT650M use Throttlestop:

    http://www.techinferno.com/downloads/?did=41

    1) Launch Throttlestop
    2) Set multiplier to “Turbo” (Highest value) and check the box.
    3) Click “Turn On” in the bottom-right corner.
    4) Click “Save” in the bottom-left corner.
    5) Bench again and be happy ;)

Does that lock the CPU into turbo or does it still allow idle states and stuff (I.e. Can you leave throttlestop on 24/7)?

Yes, but temperatures tend to go up.. especially if one has a XM cpu..

ThrottleStop can not lock a 3610QM into Turbo Boost mode full time. That's impossible.

When idle, your CPU will still be able to enter all of the various sleep states that your bios allows. ThrottleStop includes a C State monitoring window for the Core i processors so you can see exactly what percentage of time each core of your CPU is spending in these deeper sleep states. This information can help users eliminate gadgets and other background junk that interferes with their CPUs idling down.

ThrottleStop consumes a very tiny percentage of system resources when minimized to the system tray so it's not a problem to leave it running 24/7. If you have an Nvidia GPU, do not use ThrottleStop GPU temperature monitoring 24/7. I have heard that this will keep waking up your GPU to sample its core temperature which defeats the purpose of Optimus.

Prema: Thanks for your simple guide. Running ThrottleStop to get the W110ER running at its Intel designed speed is not exactly rocket science. :)

Has anyone tried running RealTemp to enable Turbo Boost when the GPU is active?

    RealTemp 3.70
Download Real Temp 3.70 | techPowerUp

Open up the Settings window and make sure the Disable Turbo box is clear and then push OK to save this setting. When testing, click on the Log File option in RealTemp and then go do some gaming and see if Turbo Boost is enabled or not in the log file. This might be an alternative for users that are hesitant about using ThrottleStop. I think RealTemp is a little more efficient so if it works, it might be a better solution for this problem.

I have a 150EM with a 3720qm, my question is when I have prime 95 running on all my cores/threads the max turbo is 34 and when in single it goes up to 36 with or without throttlestop. Is throttlestop doing anything at all on my case? Also my temps are always under 90 C on all cores. My throttlestop is set with only set multiplier (turbo), EIS and C1E checked on first screen under options only Nvidia gpu is checked (I have the 680) and my C0% is set to 35 and ofourse throttlestop is on when testing and off when comparing the results... Also one last wird thing is that on cpuZ my clock frequency differs from that shown on throttlestop... Is everthing normal?
