Basically my "r" and "t" and "g" keys have started to work intermittently requiring me to press them with so much force that I have to slow my typing and it's getting really annoying.

EDIT: This issue seems to come and go, my keys are actually working fine now 10 minutes after posting his thread

Could be the keyboard going bad. If you're comfortable reseating the cables the connect it to the motherboard you can give that a shot. If you do need to replace they keyboard you can contact your original reseller. Many will sell and ship the keyboard for user install so you do not have to send the computer in to have it done.

Didn't spill beer on keyboard, now  ?

Would second Hutsady's suggestion; since these three keys are so close together they're probably on the same ' line' as well (keys are bundle-connected). So with any luck it's just a poor seating on one end of the cable. This is an easy check; remove the small/thin led strip above the keyboard (just clicks in place), remove four screws, lift and flip over keyboard. You can now unseat/reseat the flat cable by gently pushing out the retainer clip thingy. Jam the cable firmly in place, push back retainer and test the cable; no need to put everything else back at this point, can dry test it as is.

If that didn't help then the cable may be partly damaged near the bend, it's where it suffers most strain. Would require a new kb then; RMA, if you still have warranty, otherwise ~$25 for a replacement.

Sure, because they'll charge you 2x cost of the component + an hours wage (quick search for a P150SM says $45 and the W230SS for $75, but RJTech is always pricey ...). The $25 is assuming you'll install it yourself and buy the cheapest available, which may or may not be designated "Clevo".

Most laptop keyboards are made by Chicony and based on the same generic design. The W230SS's Chicony base part nr. is MP-13C2, that one's not listed on their site, but the MP-10F8 has identical dimensions. Find one that is 300x110mm, has the standard 24-pin cable of sufficient length (with or without backlight) and you're good ( this one's close). Repaired/tested/ran a score of different keyboards on the W230SS, even non-Chicony; usually no issues, except the FN functions don't match the blue icons.

Kinda unfortunate that they're all based on the same hardware; have looked for a 13.3"-ish keyboard that has the * (wildcard) key as a stand-alone, rather than FN+other. Haven't found a single one ... so redesignated the ' Menu' key to ' wildcard/multiply' instead.
