Got mine from Mythlogic for a week but too busy to play with it. One problem I encountered so far is the Fn on brightness. Fn + f8 or f9 doesn't seem to work for me. My current brightness seems to be at max. Without Fn + f8 or f9 I can't adjust it, and it's too bright to be usable.
Any suggestion guys? SOLVED
New SD card reader issue of not detecting sd card

are you running on high performance as i think that sets it to max.
no idea why shortcut keys are not working. does the F5/6 work for volume. if not you need to reload the driver.
you can adjust manually in i think battery settings (at work so not got lappy in front of me).
hover over battery in taskbar and click (i think) power options. then it should give you the manual options for using mains and battery.
hopefully someone else can confirm or give right steps if ive missed something. -
Yes, reinstall Hotkey. Make sure you download the proper one for the W230ST.

Agreed with HTWingNut, try reinstalling the hotkey drivers. Do the other Fn keys work properly? You can also adjust it in Windows, Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Power Options then move the slider on the bottom. Or click on the start button and type "brightness"

What OS do you have?
-
Fresh installed win 7 64-bit.
Thank you to all responses! I'll see if it works out.
Which nvidia driver version would be best for 765m? Currently have 311.54 from driver disk -
326.80 latest.
-
Thanks! Everything seems to work now. And 326.80 would be best for 765m? I'll try that.
What sd card reader driver would work for if it happens to not detect sd card? -

The latest set is usually the best and would apply to the whole 7 series.

Thanks for bringing up the issue Impale - I thought it was just me being silly. I have the exact same problem, but updating/reinstalling the hotkey driver didn't seem to solve the problem for me.
I've tried manually adjusting the brightness via the Windows 8 side toolbar though it doesn't make a difference on the slider.
I'm thinking there's an option somewhere that has it set to max brightness but that still doesn't explain the Fn + F8/F9 not working.
Any help would be appreciated - I absolutely need for it to work. I'm going from class to class and the brightness just drains my battery. Thanks! -
Can you adjust brightness from windows power options?
-
*** I just found something interesting though. If I adjust brightness though the Intel Graphics Control Panel in the "Display -> Colors" tab, it will actually do it. Maybe the Intel Control Panel overrides everything else? -
Have you tried installing the latest drivers? I tried installing 320.49 but it doesn't detect my gpu so I'm stuck with 311.54.
-
* Can't seem to find any good Nvidia Optimus drivers though - aside from the ones Clevo provides. -
same here. But 326.80 works
-
-
Anybody got anymore ideas on why adjusting brightness isn't working right?
Side Note: Has any of you gotten "The Nvidia driver cannot find compatible hardware" while installing the Nvidia drivers? I always get them and I'm not able to update to 326.80 b/c of it. -

P.S. Love your work, keep it up. Any updates on the special W230ST Prema bios? -

Slight driver incompatibilities break the chain of events that need to happen to adjust the voltage to the display.
