I bought my W230ST from Mythlogic and it has been doing great so far, but it is currently encountering some complications AFTER doing a fresh install on my 840 pro 256gb

    Window randomly freezes:
I'm currently using Win 7 ult. 64bit and updating drivers. There are so many incidents where it randomly freezes. I've tried googling for help; installed and tested what microsoft suggests but it still freezes out of the blue. It pains me to improper shutdown each time.

A few settings are always being reset when booted:
    1. brightness setting always on high every time I boot.
    2. Wi-fi password is never saved. So each time I start the pc, it have to input the password. This is very frustrating especially when I have to use it all the time in school.

SD Card slot isn't reading my sd card at all:
So I've tried checking device manager and it does not list it on the disk drive. Also I insert my sd card and reboot it; no detection. I tried to look for a driver but could not find it.

Any assistance would be so helpful. Thanks.

*Edit1* SD Card Problem is solved. Driver disk had the wrong the driver, but mythlogic redirected me to the correct one :)

did you install all the drivers in order from the driver disc.
over the years there have been conflicts when drivers are not loaded in order.

Not in order, I think I got all of them though. Should they be in order? Please excuse my inexperience.

Maybe I'll try to redo them in order

no worrys, thats why we are here to help.

if you got a driver disc with your laptop run it and it will load the driver menu.
you need to start at the top and load one by one. this is a bit tedious and you will have to reboot numerous times.
once all is done you can then upload the gpu drivers if you wish but all the others should be upto date as you have a new machine so the driver disc should be almost upto date.

Maybe a bit paranoid, but I would also reboot when requested. Pain in the butt I know but at least Windows can load any updated registry settings with each reboot. If you have an SSD it's only a minor annoyance.

I did have a little trouble getting Windows 7 installed myself. I think this system actually behaves best with Windows 8. But my loathing of Win 8 made me try harder. :p

Hmm, you might want to run a hard drive diagnostic just to be safe. Samsung drives are reliable, but you never know.

Clevo and Sager have the card reader drivers, although Clevo only seems to list the Windows 8 driver.

Sager card reader driver (Windows 7).
