Unless you have some unpopular WiFI/BT card or stuff without Linux drivers I don't think you'll get into any problem.

Cant say for sure this particular model but yes many people have put Linux on them with little if no issues at all. If anything the backlit keyboard light controls may give you issues.

If you want to test Linux on it, grab the bootable cd from knoppix ( KNOPPIX Linux Live CD) and pop it in your cdrom drive and boot off cd.

If it sees everything out of the box then you're good to go with Linux.

The CD is entirely sandboxed and won't install or modify anything on your harddrive, so is safe to boot on.

They also have a working solution for the backlit color keyboard solution:

kernel - Reverse-Engineer Driver for Multi-colored Backlit Keyboard on Clevo Laptops - Ask Ubuntu

Shouldn't be an issue... I dual boot with Windows and ubuntu all the time. Even on my old Sager.

We get very few orders omitting the OS in lieu of a Linux distro, but on the few users that have decided to go that route, we haven't had many returns or inquiries. There's even an Ubuntu keyboard for the P series.

I use Xubuntu on my M980NU and everything I need works out great. There are some minor issues but I guess I have to live with them:

    - you cannot disable the "fancy" LEDs
    - Blutooth does not work well ( since I don´t use it, it´s ok for me )
