Hi Guys,
I'm looking at getting my dad one of these W670's, I have 2 GPU options, a GT740m, and the almost identical GT750m.
The GT740m comes in 2 flavours according to notebookcheck:
NVIDIA GeForce GT 740M - NotebookCheck.net Tech
And if Clevo are fitting the GK208 with the rather low 64bit bus, then I will advise my Dad to splash the extra few ££ and get the 750m
Does anyone have one of these, or can anyone confirm which core it has, and what memory they use (64bit, 128bit? DDR3, gDDR3, maybe gDDR5 is listed as an option too??)
- A quick glance at GPUz might uncover all this information if it is accurate.
Thanks all you loverly peoples![]()

so I guess no one knows!
Well I bought one anyway for my old man, It is the "new" GK208 but I did find it ran my games as fast and I suspect faster than my GT650m even at its native 1600x900.
I'm most impressed with 2 things, for a start the very budget 3550m pentium dual core ran my single thread heavy games - I'm surprised, not much more to say - Maybe one day I'll slid the i7-4700mq in there one day and see how it goes.
The 2nd thing, is the temperature, this new GK208 runs much much much much cooler that I expected, both the CPU and GPU peaked around 55°C max load during games, the exhausting air was only just warm really and obviously very quiet. With prolonged use I'd guess 60°C would about the most this will ever hit.
I was seeing 100% GPU utilization with all the special effects turned up (and the game was 15-25fps so really loading it) so it didn't seem that the 64bit bandwidth or CPU was holding anything up (although I'm no expert)
I'm really impressed, It handled Battlefield 4 on 1600x900 with low detail fluently and competitively enough online and in single player medium/high was very achievable. It also cruises through WorldOfTanks (I can't get off this game........ this and Warzone2100 which I've been playing since release!.....) again at 1600x900 with minimum detail at 110fps+ and 30-40fps on high with Flora disabled
Big thumbs up, it's tick's alot of boxes If your after a budget gaming laptop - I genuinely think this is the highest FPS per $ or £ for me on the market
W670SHQ (17.3" GT 740m) - any one got one? can you help me out with a little info??
