    Since I am reading this forum for the last week, I get more and more confused by different information different people provided in various topics for W860CU.

    Let's cut to the chase...

    I have a Devil 9700 DTX (Clevo W860CU) with ATI HD 5870. LINK to review

    My budget is 170 EUR. It would be 240, if 16GB RAM upgrade is possible. (Price for 16GB ~140E)

    Upgrade:

    *RAM from 4GB to 16GB: It seems that only 8GB 1333MHz is possible. (Price for 8GB ~70E)

    *HD to SSD: I have no clue what to buy, I do read a lot about SSD, but have no experience with them. (Price for 120GB or more 70~100E)

    Please help me end this confusion. I would like to make the purchase ASAP.

    Can someone please end my confusion.

    Is it possible to upgrade this with 16GB or not?
    I am looking at this... Corsair Vengeance SO-DIMM Kit 16GB with timings: CL10-10-10-28

    If not... these are the options:

    * Corsair ValueSelect SO-DIMM Kit 8GB, DDR3-1333 with CL9 timings
    * Corsair Vengeance SO-DIMM Kit 8GB, DDR3-1600 with CL9-9-9-24 timings

    And what type of SSD you recommend? These three cought my eye:
    * Crucial m4 SSD with 128GB
    * Kingston SSDNow V300 with 120GB
    * Kingston HyperX 3K SSD 120GB

    To the best of my memory, 8 GB is the max amount of memory supported on this system. As far as SSDs go, the Crucial M4 is not bad but had a history of some buggy firmware updates. If you're on a budget, then SanDisk is not a bad option, though not quite as fast as the competition. Samsung and Intel are the leaders in the SSD market as far as reliability.

    Instead of opening up a new thread, could someone answer me here.

    It seems that the drivers for the card reader are not installed or the card reader is not working anymore. How could I check this? How could I update the drivers?

    I installed everything fine. I found out there is a problem with the reader. It is visible for some minutes and then disappears.
