Hello,
After a bad bios flash, the screen doesn't turn on anymore. The laptop will start up, but nothing happens, no post. External does not show anything either.
I've tried to do the bios recovery method by making a USB stick thru the phoenix recovery software, then putting my BIOS file in there. I then used the FN+B to start up emergency recovery mode but it does not seem to do the trick.
Does this model have a different key combination, or possibly a different method? I know the model is a bit older so I'm not entirely sure how to proceed here, seeking advice from anyone who is more experienced with these laptops

I would ask @Prema for assistance. It doesn't sound hard bricked so recovery should be possible.
Just to make sure, you pressed FN + B while the machine was off and continued to hold it down as you powered it on and you used a FAT32 USB drive in a USB 2.0 port (the two in the back and one on the left are 2.0, the right side is 3.0), correct? -
FN+B is for Clevo Ami Aptio BIOS only...for Phoenix recover browse the Clevo section for older models.

Here is the Phoenix recovery info. It looks like it is either FN+B or Win+B

Yeah I had the battery out and the laptop unplugged before holding FN+B, then plugged it in then powered it on.
The left side and back sides are USB 2.0 yeah. I can see the USB blink a few times then sit at a solid light, then it sits there until I just shut it down. The laptop didn't progress at all when I left it for 20 mins or so. I was holding FN+B for at least 5 solid minutes before letting go.
I use a Sandisk Cruzer U3, and used method 1 in Ethrem's post, to no solution yet -
Ok so I got it working, incase someone googles the same problem and is stuck like I was:
I had to buy a new USB stick. The Sandisk U3 was just not working at all.
I used the left USB port.
I used phoenix bios recovery software and the hotkey presses is FN+B.
The procedure took about 3-4 minutes then it auto shutdown. Make sure to unplug it after it finishes and hold power to dump the residual power, and it should work without a problem.Prema likes this. -

It does need to be FAT formatted rather than NTFS which may have been the issue, did you double check that too? In any case glad it is working for you.

Yeah I did double check, my U3 is always in FAT format
I used multiple different DOS formatting tools. Maybe my U3 is just super old, which it actually is.
