    W860CU Battery Dummy - For no shaking using AC Power

    is there anything like a battery dummy for the W860CU ? Im using it more as a desktop replacement and dont wanna use the battery at all times.

    no, there is not battery casing for the battery.

    if you are using it as a desktop replacement, then just make sure to give the battery a full charge cycle (discharge the battery to a low % and then charge it back to full) once or twice a week and it should be fine.

    mhhh thats a shame, maybe just get a second battery and modify it? take it apart? no one ever done that?

    I guess you can dismantle the cells out of the battery to empty it out.

    My friend did that for his old Clevo D901C.

    Yeah I guess that would be an option. I would need a second one then tho... or find an old one on ebay.

    Any way we can propose that to Clevo, damn I know a lot people in China maybe I can get someone to find out where they do these and I can get hold of them :)

    thats what i ment... anyway... is there a manual how to build a dummy? it does look quite slim that battery, not sure how to take it apart....

    Like most notebook batteries, the battery casing is held together by little retention tabs all around the center line of the two case halves. Use something thin to wedge your way in there and pry apart the casing. I think there is a screw or two involved as well. Once I get home I'll take a look at my battery for you.
