Hey Guys,
I hope someone can help me out, I have a W860CU made by Sager with a 280m GTX which was overclocked. After playing Crysis 2 for about 4 - 5 hours, the laptop just turned off and the psu starting ticking with no green light on the brick. then when I unplug the laptop it goes back to normal green and no tick. I opened the laptop and noticed a burning electronic smell, I took out the CPU and plugged it back in and same ticking noise. then i put the CPU back in and took out the GPU and plugged it in and it was normal green light and no ticking. So am I to assume the card burnt out?

just hope not as overclocking can void the warranty.

Im not too concerned since the laptop came out of warranty 2 months ago and Sager doesnt want to do anything even though its the 2nd time the video card went. When I first got the laptop a resistor on the card shorted and I had to send it to them, they most likely didnt replace the card just fixed the resistor? and now a year later the card seems to have gone again and no help from them of course. My concern is I wanna get the 470m or 5870m maybe even the 6970m with some modding but I just wanna see if anyone here knows if it could be anything else?

No one has any idea?

what are your temperatures like and have you cleaned the fans out lately.
download HW Monitor to check on temps.
also it could need a new psu -
If the notebook doesn't boot, then I'd say yes, it seems like you've burnt your card
If you end up getting the 6970m please post here:
