Hey all, my buddy and I bought new laptops. I got a 860, he got a 870...they're barebones and I'll be installing the CPU/mem/RAM myself but have a question.
We're in Iraq and my wife is going to combine all the parts and ship em to me, but I need to know what tools she needs to send. I have everything I could need (tiny to normal sized flat heads and philips) as well as Torx bits T1-T25. It looks like I can get by with some smaller philips and strait slot, but I just want to be sure. I'm also going to be reapplying thermal paste to the GPU.

    Any help would be appreciated!

You have everything you need already.. I think i used my single philips head to handle about 99% of it, if not all of it ...

Awesome, I'm reading up on both and will be folling your guidance and bending the "can" away from the GPU when I'm re-pasting it.

    Thanks,
    Aaron

    For the 860 I upgraded the screen to 1920, using 4gb DDR3 1333, 128GB Kingston Gen2 SSD, and a i7 620m ES.

The 870 is a same CPU and RAM but has 2 64gb gen2 kingstons for RAID 0.

Parts are arriving at my house back in the states and the wife will ship em out to me soon! So I'm thinking mid month until I get everything.

Two methods for getting the thermal paste on appropriately, use a razor to spread it out, or put a dot in the middle and use pressure to spread it out.

What I mean to say is that the only tools you need are a small phillips ... and maybe a spudger if you'd rather not use the screwdriver for leverage.
