    Hey Guys,
    I just got a W860CU with a 5870 and i7 quad core.
Now the noise on this is rather loud. I have done the gpu downclocking but is there a way to reduce the fan speed to go with this, its idling at about 50C which is fine, im happy for it to idle at 70-80C if I can reduce the fan speed.

Also anyway to downclock the cpu with a shortcut?

    Any recommendations?

you could press that button (middle) on the top that makes the fan go into silent mode. that should help

You can change the fan speeds anyway you wish in the vbios and then reflash the card. If you wish you can reduce the base level of the fan (30% at stock settings to a lower level - 10%?, 20%?); the threshold temperature where the fan increases speed to combat rising temps (45C stock to any level - 60C?, 70C?); and the rate of fan speed increase (1% per 1C stock to whatever by manipulating the max temp). Fan operation is completely customizable to suit your preferences, but reductions in fan speed will result in increased GPU temps, so some restraint is prudent.

Cheers, that makes sense :) Does that affect both fans?

Do you happen to have a link to doing this kind of thing handy?

It only applies to the GPU fan.
