I have recently had some issues syncing my ipod touch (2g, firmware: 3.1.3) to my Clevo w860cu. First off, every time I plug my ipod into itunes 9, it freezes for about 3 or 4 minutes and then comes back giving me errors of sync issues with codes like 6999 and 48. Random messages include "a folder was specified not a file" and "an unknown error as a occurred". I have been reading around the interwebz and have seen many different suggestions as to what could be the problem, but to no avail I have yet to find a solution. I have tried restarting, uninstalling, restoring, deleting, along with many other things and have yet to find one thing that helps. The common thing that I kept seeing among other users was the problem may reside with the PM55 chipset or the usb itself. I am just looking for some type of resolution or assistance with this matter. I appreciate any guidance and thank you in advance.

Man I Just Order This Laptop And An Ipod Touch, Wow Hope Someone Out There Can Help You Out So That If I Do Have The Issue Too I Can Resolve It As Well
-
I am interested in this as well.
Has this problem always been there or did it just start?
Check and make sure you have the latest Intel inf files installed. The latest version came out in late December of 09 and is rev 9.1.1.1025
Also what bios version are you running? Make sure it’s the latest version. (Rev 1.01.05s)
If you are up to date then I am not sure there is much you can do.
Another option would be to get an express card that has a USB controller and ports on it. -
I have the same issue with my iPhone. It's an issue with the PM55 chipset. I haven't tried updating my bios yet so I'm not sure if that resolves it.

Other companies have updated the BIOS to fix this.
There is a known solution.
So if someone can verify they have the latest BIOS and whether this is still a problem, then we can put some pressure on the resellers to get Sager to address this problem if need be.
I am real close to getting one of these laptops and need my Ipod Touch to work on it. -
well I am not a fan of iTunes for a variety of reasons, but I have found a perfect alternative program that does everything iTunes does, plus more (like letting you backup your ipod/iphone/itouch with proper file data in the folders)

Well I have had a chance to play with the Itunes and had the same weird problems with syncing. I know I have the latest drivers and bios. I spent a whole evening trying some of the workarounds that I found around the net, but still no joy.
What I did to solve the problem was I got a cheap express card from newegg.
Newegg.com - Rosewill NEC 4 Ports USB 2.0 ExpressCard Model RC-611
Total cost shipped was less than $18 bucks.
Hope this helps somebody who may be having problems.
